About us

Gumba offers structural bearings acc. to EN 1337. This includes reinforced elastomeric bearings with or without restraining structures, pot bearings and deformation sliding bearings. As well we are manufacturer of spherical bearings. These bearings are often chosen for bridges where special criteria have to be met, like railway bridges or bridges with high loads. All bearings are calculated and designed to fulfil exactly the requirements of the customer. We offer the full range of consulting, design and production for bearings and bridge expansion joints.

In regard of renewal of older structures you have an experienced partner with us. This has become a main focus.

Bridge expansion joints

Bridge expansion joints

Bj and BJR expansion joints are suitable for longitudinal translations of 50 to 165 mm at bridges, roads and other building constructions. Due to their uncomplicated design, both the assembly as well as the maintenance are simple.

Spherical bearings

Spherical bearings

This bearings are capable to take horizontal displacements as well as rotation through to independent sliding motions. Therefore this bearings are often chosen for bridges where special criteria have to be met, like railway bridges or bridges with high loads.

Reinforced elastomeric bearing with restraining structure

Reinforced elastomeric bearing with restraining structure

Restraining structures are steel components that surround reinforced elastomeric bearings. They transmit horizontal loads from the superstructure into the substructure. Among the horizontal loads that typically occur are wind, reset forces from translation, breaking, friction and centrifugal forces on curved railway bridges.
